4th Annual Candy Buy Back Event to Support the Troops

Dr. Dahlkemper and the Smile Team joined forces, once again, with Operation Gratitude for our 4th Annual Candy Buy Back to support our troops. Dr. Dahlkemper paid $1 per pound of candy with a raffle for a grand prize worth over $200. Last year we donated the 100 lbs. of candy purchased back from the children of the Lowcountry to Operation Gratitude. Through Operation Gratitude the candy is placed into care packages and shipped overseas to the U.S. Armed Forces. In the 3 previous years of organizing the event the office of Water's Edge Family and Cosmetic Dentistry has been pioneers in bringing such an affair to South Carolina and makes the grand total of candy, books, CDs and other goods donated equal over 400 lbs! This year we collected over 150 lbs of candy, books, and other donations for care packages for the troops.

This year we partnered with local business including the Charleston Riverdogs, Charleston Battery, South Carolina Stingrays, Blackbeard's Cove, Monkey Joe's, Stockade Storage, Cupcake, Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, Couture Photography, SunTrust Bank, Palmetto Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Center, Heraeus and ABC 4 to make the event even bigger and more successful. We cannot wait to turn this into an even larger event next year!!
